1. What considerations are most important when purchasing a spa?

The four factors you should always consider are: the benefits and features of the spa (value), the location and environment where you wish to put the spa (size), your budget for the spa and installation (cost), and most importantly, the spa suppliers reputation for selling only quality spas and providing peerless service (warranty).

2. What surfaces are acceptable for spa placement?

Wooden decking is always a beautiful and very functional choice, provided the deck is built or altered to support the additional weight of the spa. A level concrete pad also works very well for spa placement. It’s very important the spa be installed on a level surface as an unlevel surface may warp the shell and void the warranty. Our professional installers will make sure this does not happen with any spa purchased from AquaRec.

3. What is Hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is the use of water to promote physical well being and relieve discomfort. Jet streams massage the body, thereby reducing stress and soothing joint and muscle pain. Hydrotherapy is used by rehabilitation specialists to improve patient comfort and aid in patient recovery from many injuries and illnesses.

4. Are the spa jets adjustable?

Nearly all the jets on all the spas we sell are fully adjustable, allowing you to turn them to full strength massage, or you can turn them all the way down for slow water circulation. Most of the jets can also be rotated to aim in a more or less direct stream.

Our sales and service teams will show you all the options for cleaning your spa, including the all natural ozone systems that we offer with every brand of spa we sell!

5. How often should I clean the spa and how often do I drain the water?

You should clean your spa every 3 or 4 months to avoid build up from detergent residue and dissolved solids. Chemical use makes it more difficult to keep the water balanced, but regular cleanings will keep your spa as good as new. After draining your spa, a mild soap and water solution should be used to clean the spa shell. Rinse well and vacuum out any particles before refilling. All of the spa manufacturers we use also offer ozone cleaning systems, which cut back on the time and effort you will spend cleaning, thereby giving you more time to enjoy your spa!

6. What does my spa require for electrical hookup?

AquaRec offers a wide range of spas, from models that come with a factory installed cord for easy plug in, to larger models that are either 220 or 115V convertible. Most of our spas require either a 60, 50, or 40 amp GFCI breaker depending on the model. More importantly, you don’t have to worry about this, as our professional installers will take care of getting your spa up and running from delivery through completion!

7. What is an Ozone Purification System?

Ozone, sometimes referred to as energetic oxygen, is a powerful oxidizer of contaminants in water. All brands of spas we sell offer an ozonator option, allowing you to use ozone to clean your spa. Ozone is formed when three atoms of oxygen are bound together, instead of the normal two. If you have ever detected a faint, sweet smell in the air after a lightning storm, that was ozone! In hot tubs, ozone reduces the need for high chemical doses by helping to destroy bacteria, algae, viruses and yeasts. Contaminants are oxidized and odors and chloramines are reduced. Added benefits for you are a reduced time and expense needed for maintenance and a prolonged equipment life, all with a very natural purification system!

8. How long does it take for the spa to heat up?

On average, spas that are hooked up 220V will heat up approximately 6-8 degrees/hour. Spas hooked up 110V will heat up approximately 1-2 degrees/hour.
